Is Your Herbalife Genuine? How to Check Before You Buy

Why this question comes up

Herbalife is sold through Independent Members, not through supermarkets or general retailers. That structure means most of what you find on open marketplaces has passed through hands nobody can account for — and some of it isn't genuine at all.

The good news: checking is not difficult, and most problems announce themselves before you buy.

Check the seller first

This is the fastest filter, and it catches more than packaging checks do.

  • Is the seller identified? A legitimate Herbalife Independent Member states it plainly, with a name and a way to reach them. A storefront with no named person behind it is a warning on its own.
  • Is there a real contact route? An email address that works, a phone number, a business address.
  • Does the site say where stock is dispatched from? Product held and shipped within the UK is a different proposition from product routed through an unclear chain.
  • Are the policies real? Refunds, shipping, terms — written out, not placeholder text.

Check the price

Independent Members set their own retail prices and often sell below the recommended retail price. That's normal. What isn't normal is a price dramatically below every other seller. When something is 60 or 70 per cent under everyone else, the usual explanations are: it's counterfeit, it's expired, it's been stored badly, or it doesn't exist and you're about to lose your money.

A sensible discount looks like a discount. A suspicious one looks like a mistake.

Check the packaging when it arrives

When the parcel lands, before you open anything:

  • Print quality. Genuine labels are crisply printed. Blurred text, fuzzy logos, or colours that look slightly off are the classic tell.
  • Language and market. Product intended for the UK market carries UK labelling and English text appropriate to the market.
  • Batch code and expiry. Both should be present, legible, and not close to expiring. A missing or smudged batch code is a serious flag.
  • Seal. The inner seal should be intact and undamaged.
  • Spelling. Counterfeiters get product names slightly wrong surprisingly often. Read the label properly.

If something looks wrong

Don't consume it. Contact the seller and ask for the batch details and where the stock came from — a legitimate seller can answer that without difficulty. If you paid by card or through a protected payment method, raise it with your provider. And if you believe the product is counterfeit, report it to Herbalife directly.

Frequently asked questions

Can you buy Herbalife on marketplaces?

You'll find listings there. The problem is that provenance is usually impossible to establish, and that's exactly what matters with something you're going to consume.

What does genuine Herbalife packaging look like?

Sharp printing, correct branding, a legible batch code and expiry date, an intact inner seal, and labelling appropriate to the market it was intended for.

Is cheap Herbalife always fake?

No. Independent Members legitimately sell below RRP. The warning sign is a price far below every other seller, not a discount as such.

How do I know this store is legitimate?

We're a Herbalife Independent Member selling genuine product, with contact details published and real policies you can read before you buy.

What should I do with product I think is counterfeit?

Don't consume it. Contact the seller, raise it with your payment provider if needed, and report it to Herbalife.
